Take action now and write Governor Schwarzenegger to ask him to commute Sara Kruzan’s sentence to time served.  A clemency petition has been filed on behalf of Sara , who is serving a life without parole sentence in California for a crime she committed in 1994, just two months after her sixteenth birthday.

Watch Sara tell her story.

Sara’s case is extraordinary. She received life without parole for killing a well known pimp who had sexually abused her since she was 11 and prostituted her since she was 13. In addition to the abuse she suffered at the hands of her eventual victim, her life was plagued by abuse from others: she was molested by several men, gang raped by neighbors, and emotionally and verbally abused by her mother.

Please edit this template and send it to Governor Schwarzenegger today!  These letters should be sent as soon as possible, so that they are on the governor’s desk when he is considering the petition.
